It isn’t surprising that navigating food and how to nourish oneself has become confusing for many individuals with all of the information (and mis/disinformation) out there these days. In addition, there are so many messages telling us that we cannot trust our body. Though these messages can become really engrained, with support, time, and lots of compassion I believe it is possible to foster a more peaceful way of interacting with food and our body.
I strive to prioritize safety through a trauma-informed approach to care. I aim to create a caring, non-judgmental environment where clients are encouraged to show up as their authentic selves to share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences and feel seen and supported. I believe in the importance of meeting an individual where they are at, and offer a collaborative approach where clients are encouraged to be an active participant in their care. I celebrate the fact that each individual and their body is unique, and work with clients to create a care plan that aligns with their needs and values.
I work with clients to rebuild trust with their body and heal their relationship with food through a non-diet, weight-inclusive approach. I help clients to challenge thoughts, beliefs, and rules around food, eating, and their body that isn’t serving them so that they can focus more on the things that bring them joy.

I love the supportive environment created amongst the team. I learn from my teammates all the time, and use the knowledge and insights I gain from them to continue to make changes to how I practice in an effort to offer the best care possible to my clients. I also love that we get to laugh together and connect on a more personal level. I feel appreciated as a professional and as a human.
I completed both a bachelor’s degree in Applied Human Nutrition and a combined master’s degree and dietetic internship program at The University of Guelph. I have over 12 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian, and am registered in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario. I worked in a community setting for many years, where I supported a diverse range of individuals at various stages of life. It was during this time that I developed an interest in eating disorder care and started down the path that led me to The Balanced Practice.
