Intuitive Eating is a framework that supports a healthy relationship between food and body. Developed in 1995 by two dietitians, Elyse Resch and Evelyne Tribole, this framework now has hundreds of research articles to support its benefits.

At The Balanced Practice, we believe that we were all born intuitive eaters with the ability to nourish ourselves without fear, judgment and without needing to count our macros. But as we age, in diet culture, our relationship with food and self-start to get more complicated. We stop trusting ourselves, we disconnect from our bodies and try to fit into a mold that was never meant for us.

This takes us further away from our own self and for many, it leads us into the never-ending cycle of dieting. And the most interesting part? The dieting cycles have actually been shown to lead to WORSE health outcomes…
